Calendar

The calendar page shows what happened in your family's history on a given day — regardless of which year it was. It's accessed via a link from the "Today" card on the welcome page and doesn't appear in the main menu.

Calendar
The calendar shows events and event statistics.

The Today card

The welcome page automatically shows today's birthdays and today's events — deaths, marriages, and other things that happen to fall on today's date, matched by day and month. Click "Browse calendar" on the card to open the full calendar view.

Browsing between months

Click a month name in the row below the current month to jump straight there — no need to click through one month at a time if you want to check several months in no particular order.

The day view

The grid shows every day in the selected month. Days with at least one registered birthday or event are marked with a small number showing the count. Click a day to see:

  • Birthdays that day, with current age (or "Born X years ago" if the person has passed away)
  • Other events that day, grouped by event type, with the names of the persons involved

Birth events (the birth type) aren't shown in the event list here, since they're already covered by the birthday list.

Born on a leap day

If someone was born on February 29, they're shown on March 1 in other years, with a small note explaining why.

Only exact dates count

A person or event needs an exact date (day, month, and year) to show up in the calendar. Just a year isn't enough, since the calendar matches on a specific day and month.

Statistics

At the bottom of the calendar page are three statistics views, based on all registered events (births are included here, unlike in the day view above):

  • Most common days — the days of the year with the most events, regardless of type
  • By type — total number of registered events per event type
  • Most common days by event type — same as the first list, but broken down by type, in their own color-coded cards (same colors and icons used elsewhere in the app for each event type)

Click a date in the statistics to jump straight to that day in the calendar.
